The Castelli Romani are a 30 minute drive from the center of Rome. Thanks to their volcanic origin, since the Roman times, these areas have always been cultivated with vines for wine production. The most important urban center of the Castelli Romani is Frascati, which is also the name of its most famous white wine.
On request, it will be possible to visit a local winery and to enjoy a wine tasting event. Frascati is also well known for its wonderful villas, in particular Villa Aldobrandini which once belonged to Pope Gregorio XIII.
Many of the lakes in this area once were volcanic craters, which now have become wonderful naturalistic and touristic sites. Our tour includes a visit at Castelgandolfo whose lake is the magnificent background of the summer residence of the Pope.
Lunch break will be enjoyed at a three-generation restaurant, temple of the Roman cuisine.
